The woodland is home to those that wish to rescind with nature, those that reject modernity and the machinations of the industrialisation of the lands. Their return to simple ways of living has enabeld them a greater awareness of the Aether, powerfull mages manipulate the very life of the forest and bend it to their will.

When the first exiles began to build in the woodland, strange Ents would sometimes bear witness to their goings on, later approaching the exiles to grant them protection, seeing their appreciation of the natural world and respecting it. As the protectors of the forest, the Ents now serve those that have usurped their role; the exiles who fiercely defend their territory with traps, guerilla warfare and ancient magic.

The connection to the Aether was born undergound and exploring ancient cave systems will be the key to reforming your connection to it. Some say the Aether is as old as time itself and some say an ancient civilisation created it, the truth shall be uncovered.

The last party that attempted to make contact with the woodland tribes were strung up and displayed at the edge of the tree line as a reminder that honed steel cannot destroy their ideology and it certainly cannot destroy the natural world.
